CHURCH PLANTING TRAINING CENTER
This is a future role.
There have been several of us, for a number of years, that have been deeply concerned about how few church plants survive, even to the five year mark.
There is also a concern about how difficult it is becoming to fund full time planters anymore.
So here is the dream: Create a training center that brings in experts from all over to teach seminars, allowing students to get a minor in Church Planting, while they are getting a major in another professional degree. This will allow graduates to go anywhere in the world their new career takes them, enabling them to be bi-vocational as they are planting churches as well. Young adults can use their skills with their computer degrees, elementary education degrees and so on; and plant churches along the way!
What is also strategic is that Bluefield College is conveniently located to multiple colleges and universities, allowing a wide range of students to attend the training center.
While this is only a dream now, there are a lot of folks that hold this vision.
The steps we are taking today will pave the way for these doors to open.
